Weekend a Siena Video
La Bella Principessa a Milano Presents:
My weeks have started to look like before summer, overloaded with work. I slightly like it, so no complaining. In almost one week I had time to make an haute couture evening dress for a Finnish client, trip to Belgium, start a new winter collection and make a weekend getaway trip to Tuscany.

Two weeks ago we got a Finnish client flying to Milan for a dress fitting. If you can imagine what it is to make a unique evening dress in just a few short days you might know what I am talking about. I was sewing all night long and during the days we had the fittings. I believe she will shine like a star in her gala in Helsinki.

I also flew to Belgium for a briefing of a new collection that I started to design. I used Easy Jet to fly to Brussels and in my opinion it for sure wasn’t easy! I return back using Lufthansa from now on. No more “those” companies! When I returned from our Belgium office in Antwerp the weather was chilly also in Milan, I guess that we finally got fall here in Italy. Sweet, I can finally start using all the caps and mittens.

My parents arrived for a long weekend on Friday morning…meaning no more working with Illustrator before Monday. I took them around Milan for a day. We had a great lunch in Naviglio in my favorite restaurant Luca & Andrea and in the evening we ate in Brera. I wanted to try a new place in Via Fiori Chiari called Trattoria Dell Angolo and I was highly satisfied. The service was great, I will return to see the owner for sure.

The next morning we left to Siena for the weekend. I hadn’t quite understood that it would be close to 400km’s away from Milan. Ups! Luckily we had great music in the car and we got to admire the beautiful Tuscan view on our way.

I love this picture, I didn’t know that my dad was waving from the other window, hah hah…
The Hotel Villa Scacciapensieri turned out to be a jackpot. Absolutely gorgeous!!! I was happy that I had spent a bit time searching for it in the internet. My mom loved it and she wants to return there one day.

We spent the afternoon wondering around Siena and made a late lunch in one of the restaurants by the “piazza”. The city was fascinating and we had a great time. Our hotel up in the hills had a restaurant and we decided to eat dinner there. Good choice, the food was good and the service even better. I have to admit that we spent a fortune there. I feel horrible thinking about that, I’d rather spend the same money for a pair of new Sergio Rossi high heels…

On Sunday we left to Firenze, but didn’t arrive there before late lunch time. We had some inconvenience on the road. Thanks mom!!! We found a great lunch place on the other side of Ponte Vecchio called Cammillo Trattoria. The local police hinted us of the place. During the weekend I ate so well that it will be awful to return home and start cooking for myself again. (I am a bit lazy cook for just myself.)

What a long trip back home to Milan. I had bought tickets to go to see AC Milan-Roma for my dad and me. We hurried to San Siro to witness Milan win against Roma. What a great finishing for the perfect weekend! Now all we needed was a late night pizza in Pizzeria Premiata at Naviglio.
I am a “Milanista”, but I like this song and the passion in it… (Forse non sono così brava tifosa di Milan, hah hah)
Arrivederci mamma e papà!
Baci!
