Bread & Butter a Berlino, giorni II & III Arvottu
La Bella Principessa a Milano presents:
I was supposed to post this second part of my Berlin trip already last week, but finishing the winter collections I was working with took all of my time. (So sorry…)
The second full day in Berlin I had a business meeting in Bread and Butter with the company I am working with. The lunch turned out to be longer than expected and very nice indeed. Afterwards I went to see people that I know and took these pictures from Rucanor’s exhibition stand. I think their shoes are really cool and for sure more affordable than Converse, Adidas and Puma.
Profile of Rucanor
”Rucanor is very proud of her rich heritage as a Dutch sports brand. Originally, Rucanor is a strong family business and this is still reflected in our business culture of today. Since our foundation in 1956, Rucanor has proven to be a pure, reliable and strong sports brand with a big sports heart.”
”Rucanor is a Dutch sports brand founded by Jacob van Rijswijk in 1956 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Rucanor is a no-nonsense brand that offers good quality sports products. Well known are the basic products that can be found in almost every sport shop like pumps, whistles, balls, bandages and fitness products. Besides that, Rucanor brings beautiful summer and winter collections.
The most successful Rucanor product, however, is the sport shoe. This shoe, originally made of rubber and canvas, is where the brand gets its name from. RUbber and CANvas make the first part of the brand name. OR (the French word for gold) was added later as a golden lining on the brand.”
After I survived out of Tempelhof airport and stole a taxi from some Italians (the driver preferred blonds obviously) I went to meet the lady I met on the plane to Germany. We had a date at The Corner Berlin. The store is famous among people in the fashion industry. While talking to Romy (my new friend) and the owner of The Corner store, Josef, I learned that they host a lot of fashion events as well. I loved the shop and the champagne they offered tasted extremely good after a hard business meeting. ;o)
I barely made it in time back to the hotel and onwards again to the dinner with the crew of Rucanor. We had a great dinner at a Restaurant called A Posto. Their Italian speaking staff adored having me there and the evening was great fun.
Last day in Berlin we did some window shopping. I didn’t feel like shopping because I knew the sales would start in Italy and the items I need to buy need a bit more savings first.
Our hotel Kempinski was just in the middle of all the shopping areas. If you take the street to the left you find stores like Zara, Mango etc. If you turn right you find my favorites Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Channel, Yves Saint Laurent etc…
I was slightly unlucky when returning to Milan. My connection flight from Dusseldorf was more than 3 hours late due to bad weather…
